How to get rid of Purple fonts

Postby meg » Thu Feb 16, 2012 3:36 am

I think I have come a long way with my site, megsommers.net and I just have a few details left. Can anyone tell me how to change the purple font and increase the font size on some of the really small print. I have managed all sort of other changes but can't seem to find the code for these. Thank you in advance for your help! Meg

I wanted to know the same thing and tonight I finally figured it out. Happy to share.

Near the bottom of the "/* =Global Elements" section...look for the following code:

a:link {
color: #3fa0dc;
text-decoration: none;
}
a:visited {
}
a:active,
a:hover {
text-decoration: underline;
color: #fff;
}

You'll want to add some code after a:visited { and before }. I just copied what is in between the brackets for a:link and added the color code of my choice. I'm new at this...not an expert in any sense...but this worked for me. Purple is gone!

Good luck!

I hope I am not stating the obvious but
If you are using fire fox try downloading fire bug and changing the elements to your liking. This won't save the changes but will show you where they are.

In Google Chrome right click inspect element to do the same.

OMG THANKS! I tried everything and this finally worked - now links and visited links are blue instead of purple in Firefox, Safari and Chrome - don't know about IE yet as I'm on a mac. I just added a color to the a:visited.

}
a:visited {
color: #3fa0dc;
text-decoration: none;
}
