Hello, this is an amazing theme. I am crossing my fingers that I will be able to get it working since I do not have any CSS experience. I tried to make mine go from 7 images to 6, and I did this by taking wayne's advice on removing one of the li lines in the header code in the div calle dimage menu and changing the closed widths in the imagemenu.CSS file, as well as Djé's advice on changing line 61 in sliding-door/functions.php.

It seemed to work! Until I created a new - seventh - page that I do not want to have associated with a head image. But it's showing up in my header...kind of... It's like it spills over directly underneath the first few images of my header, but since there's no image associated with it it's just a little white box with the link to my newest page. http://victoriashade.com

I have no clue what I did wrong when I originally went from 7 to 6. What have I misunderstood, and how do I fix this? Thanks so much!

OKay, figured it out. In header.php I found:

<?php slider_menuparse(wp_list_pages('sort_column=ID&depth=1&number=7&title_li=&echo=0')); ?>

and changed the 7 to a 6. Now my extra pages (which I did not want in the header because I am using them as subpages) are not messing it up. Woohoo!

Okay, First off....I read the FAQ. I came to this thread from the FAQ. I read the thread.... the instructions for adding a slider are...well... lets just say I figured it out for myself.

I have successfully added an 8th slider...Here's how to do it....

Site admin your wordpress...

Navigate to Appearance. Under Appearance, select Editor.

In the editor, first open HEADER.php

Find:
Code: Select all
<?php slider_menuparse(wp_list_pages('sort_column=ID&depth=1&number=7&title_li=&echo=0')); ?>

Change to:
Code: Select all
<?php slider_menuparse(wp_list_pages('sort_column=ID&depth=1&number=8&title_li=&echo=0')); ?>

Update the file and then open FUNCTIONS.php

Find:
Code: Select all
for ( $counter = $count+1; $counter <= 7; $counter += 1) {

Change to:
Code: Select all
for ( $counter = $count+1; $counter <= 8; $counter += 1) {

Update the file. Now open IMAGEMENU.CSS it is located in /wp-content/themes/sliding-door/imagemenu/
You should use WORDPAD or similar to edit.

Find:
Code: Select all
#imageMenu ul li a {
   /* change to    text-indent: -1000px; if you want to use images in the menu instead of text*/
   background:#FFFFFF none repeat scroll 0%;
   border-right: 2px solid #fff;
   cursor:pointer;
   display:block;
   overflow:hidden;
   width:133px;

Change to:
Code: Select all
#imageMenu ul li a {
   /* change to    text-indent: -1000px; if you want to use images in the menu instead of text*/
   background:#FFFFFF none repeat scroll 0%;
   border-right: 2px solid #fff;
   cursor:pointer;
   display:block;
   overflow:hidden;
   width:116.3px;

116.3px was derived from 7 * 133 = 931 931 / 8 = 116.3

Now... I have two questions..

I have got my eight slider...but cannot get a page to link to it..
And I would like to have my titles vertical as seen on http://www.mamafufu.com . I can just remove the horizontal titles then graphically edit the sliders to have the lettering I need.. But if there is a CSS to do it dynamically, I would rather go that route.

Wayne, If I can get these ironed out, a donation coming your way!

Hi Andy,

The link that you provided is broken so not sure whether you have found the way to link your page or category or ??? to your eighth image. As for the vertical text in the image, they are part of the image and was added using photoshop. I believe many other tools would let you do that too.

Hope this helps.

Regards

I have not been able to find much information about a "Sliding Doors" type theme that is available for Drupal. But, it seems like this must be happening. Am I looking in all the wrong places?

You might have to write one yourself - it's not that hard!

I'm new to CSS so forgive my ignorance but I've managed to remove one of the sliders to change it from a 7 tab slider to 6, so no issues there.

What I'm having trouble with is finding the location where I can change the width of each slider in order to make the entire slider bar the length it was with 7 tabs. I've read through all the posts here and have tried my best to locate the spot to do this with no luck.

Still working on my site but if you want to check it out I'd appreciate any input, http://www.tmonlinemarketing.com/. I'll be changing the images as soon as I figure out what I want on them, lol.

Thanks for your assistance. :)

Tammy

Hi everyone,
I'm pretty new and can with a little help eventually figure out most things. I've have managed to change the number of pages/images on the slider to 5 but can't seem to change the size of the images.

I saw in one of the earlier posts here a ref to wp-content/themes/sliding-door/imagemenu/ and changing it there is there any other alternatives as I can't seem to change it via the wordpress Dashboard. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.
