Thank you. This worked as I had hoped and I feel my site looks neater with it on the right-hand side.

TheJoe wrote:I brushed up on my CSS and with the help of CSS Edit, I found the solution.

For those that are interested in doing this within the current "slidingdoor" theme.

In style.css:

Find:

#content {
float: right; <---- change this to left
width: 640px;
margin-top: 0px;
}

and:

#sidebar {
width: 232px;
float: none; <--- change this to right
padding-top: 8px;
text-align: left;
}

This will swap the sidebar to the right side of the page. The mistake I made was changing float to none, which made the 'content' block take up the whole page within the wrapper.

I hope this helps.

The 1st topic that I browsed for with the Sliding Door theme I am trying out. The code change suggested worked beautifully at first attempt. Thanx a lot...

This was great instructions. Thanks for testing it out and finding the solution.

Also, it fixed an issue I could not seem to solve - blog posts falling down below the widgets.

In Wordpress 3.4 the editing of code has moved from the individual site dashoards to the network administrator dashboard. Understandable.

But the new option picker approach you meet on the individual site dashboards does not seem to include the choice of layout (two column or three column). If I edit the theme as the network administrator to get my desired two column with left sidebar layout, doesn't that mean that every other site in the network also only has that option for this theme?

Have I missed the layout option on the individual site dashboard?
