How do I remove 'Powered by Wordpress' from the bottom of each page?
Thanks

I see this was posted ages ago. Do you still want to know? I didn't get an answer either but I worked it out. Not sure if there will be consequences or not. There was a note in the code about it.

Yep it's in footer.php and very easy to remove.

wordpress is free and open source so you are allowed to remove the credit and not acknowledge them.

but they do say...

You teach wordpress?

I've done seminars too and here's a list of plugins I recommend....

Wordpress Plugins useful for Churches

Email Alerts
Allows users to be alerted when a comment or new post is posted.
Email Users
Allows the site editors to send an e-mail to the blog users.
Google Event Cal
Puts a Google Calendar in the sidebar from a public Google calendar XML feed.
(Alternate way: use the RSS feed widget and parse the google RSS feed using feed43.com)
Page Links To
Allows you to point WordPress pages to a post or URL of your choosing. Good for setting up links to categories like sermons, or to off-site resources like a facebook page.
Podcasting
Add sermons to your Wordpress blog.
Sermon Borwser
Upload and organise sermons by categories.
WPAudioplayer
Play sermons from blog (use the new beta version from wpaudioplayer.com)
Wordpress Download Monitor
Manage downloads of resources. Better than download manager.
Simple Facebook Like Widget
Adds a footer link to add the current post or page to a Facebook Mini-Feed.
Tweet This
Adds a "Tweet This Post" link to every post and page. Shortens URLs. Can automatically tweet new and scheduled blog posts.

General Plugins

Executable PHP widget
Like the Text widget, but it will take PHP code as well.
FLV Embed
Embed a video into a post or page.
WP-DBManager
Reasonably simple and reliable way to backup your Wordpress database.
WP CSS Dropdown Menu
Creates a drop-down navigation menu of pages.
Pagemash
Organise pages when using Dropdown menu.
WP-Superchache
Caches pages to stop server overloading and makes pages load faster
Upgrade Notification by Email
Sends a notofication if Wordpress is out of date
Redirection
Redirect your site to a static page while you do maintenance.
Widget Logic
Choose what widgets appear on what pages to avoid clutter

While i certainly needed to edit the footer I did leave the credits to word press and you in the footer. How ever I did pop my copyright on there as well.
